So Sorry group.
This post was done yet again by Mr. Kirk Burtch. So, he gets the credit or the blame, whichever you would rather. :) Take it away Kirk.
So what do you think of Bella’s choices regarding Edward, her father, and Billy? What of this new group? Did they escape from the island on Lost? What did you see in chapters 16 through 20 that peaked your interest? Here are some thoughts I had as I followed the revelations in Bella’s adventure.

I just have to ask before I rush out and buy this book if any of you would have an interest in discussing the latest Oprah book club pick. It is called a New Earth and focuses on spirituality.
You can find the book here or in almost every bookstore prominently displayed.
Do you think it would be worthwhile discussing in this forum?

Hello to all of you,
I apologize for not posting much lately. The fact is that we are moving into a new home this week and the preparations for that and the purchase of the home have been taking much of my time. The amazing thing about this whole process is God’s plan of showing me my sinfulness more clearly. It has been frustrating, but I can still attest to Romans 8:28, maybe more now than ever.
This time away from interacting with the culture and focusing on specifics in me that need to be changed has been good for me, causing me to lean upon Christ more. My biggest struggle has clearly been worry and so God has provided many “opportunities” for me to worry about my life these past few weeks. Rather than elaborate on specifics that would tempt me to rehash them in my own mind, I will tell you this–God has been faithful in all of it. Read the rest of this entry »
This week we have a guest poster. Kirk Burtch has provided the initial post for discussion. Thanks Kirk.
As we see Bella being drawn closer and closer to Edward it reminds me of the attraction the world holds for we humans. John tells us: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-17 But oh how beautiful Babylon can look, how enticing. Does anyone watch the CBS series Jericho? I was going to write one the second season, which began last week, decided not to, and now am reconsidering after having watched the season premier. This is a great show. If you’re not already a fan, I highly recommend TIVOing this season, and grabbing the first season on DVD (available through Blockbuster Total Access). It’s a great story, and the nature of the plot almost guarantees that the writers will continue to introduce weighty topics as the series continues.
Help me decide. I’m currently considering writing every other week, capturing two episodes at a time, if other fans are interested in the discussion. Otherwise, I’ll probably just try to recap the season at the end.
Bella loves Edward and Edward loves Bella. Isn’t that cute for Valentines Day? Now that we got that out of the way, what did you think about chapters 6 through 10 of this first novel? Read the rest of this entry »
OK, I am WAY behind on this post and it will not be very long, but I do plan on posting after each episode. I had two great people in my life ask me about the plans, so here you go. Thanks by the way to those two guys. :)
This was a great episode for me. I love how the writers are changing the focus each season to a different aspect or group. This season Read the rest of this entry »
It was announced that this strike is finally over and that will mean television and movies will be back on schedule. If you haven’t noticed the strike already, you were going to if it continued. Shows like 24 did not even present a new season and Lost is going to be a short season all because of this strike.
You can read all of the details here.

I’m not sure what you think about the race between Huckabee and McCain, but I thought I would throw in a speech I just watched. It is very interesting and I would love to hear your thoughts.
Here is the place to go watch it.
Enjoy!

Introduction
Welcome to the next book that we are reading together and discussing on this blog. We will be working our way through the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, the first in a projected series of four. As I have said before, this is different than most of the books we discuss here since the intended audience is teens with an emphasis on girls. The fact is that even books like this have interesting themes to discuss. We will be working through five chapters each week, the first five being covered in this post. Please feel free to comment on what I wrote or on your own observations in the comments section.
