Through a Screen Darkly

Taking a break from commenting on movies, I wanted to let you know about a book that I am currently reading. Through A Screen Darkly by Jeffrey Overstreet is a facinating book so far. Now I’m Obsessed!

Movies have been hard on me this last couple of weeks. The latest movie that I watched in preparation for a Reel Discernment we had a couple nights ago was The Prestige. What a movie! I have to say that I really “liked” this movie, even though it was tremendously dark and sad to watch.

Working with a new computer

Spiderman 3: Battles Within a Tight Suit

I am Spiderman, only without the tight suit. At least that is what I thought as I left the theater. Not that I think I can swing around looking cool, but I saw my own struggles so I identified with Peter Parker. As a result, I enjoyed this third installment. It is not everyday that a movie will help you think about living right as a Christian.

What follows are my thoughts on the movie, the good, bad and ugly. As usual, there will be spoilers in this, since I am not simply writing a review but discussing the worldview and lessons I was reminded of. Be warned. Read the rest of this entry »
