Alright, so this week I watched an older film with a friend of mine, Mike Robbins. He had told me about this movie and wanted to know if I would watch it with him. I had never even heard of it before, but I was open. The name of the film is Frailty. If you do not want to know what happens in this film, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER. As I was taking a look at some other blogs concerning movies, I ran across this one that was about an upcoming movie called The Golden Compass and it’s comparison with The Lord of the Rings.
Very interesting reading. I am about to start reading this trilogy of books by Philip Pullman before the movie comes out so that I will be able to interact with them honestly.

Re-introduction
Welcome to the Discerning Mind website. If you have been here before, you see we have changed things up a bit. We are excited about the new changes and look forward to the new blog. Over the next few days we will be adding more posts and extras on the site. Hang in there with us as we get everything set up.
The plan for this blog is to interact with the culture in a way that stays true to Scripture. This can and will include many aspects of the culture (like books, news stories, music, etc), but will have a primary focus on movies and television for now.
Thanks again for joining us and please participate in the discussion. What movies are you watching now and how do they compare with the biblical worldview?

The “Quality of Life†Argument
This movie does a great job presenting the best argument for euthanasia. Read the rest of this entry »
